Today, Jaime from Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails is sharing some pool noodle fun! If you haven't checked out her blog, you must. Pop on over and see all that she does with her 3 little boys every day!
I am not sure who the first person was to cut up a pool noodle but, boy oh boy, are there tons of ways to put them to use. Just by having a box full of cut up pool noodles we have found many ways to play and learn with them. Today I am sharing a fun threading activity we tried with them. Both my then 4 yr and 2 yr had a lot of fun trying this out.
What we used:
I had cut up a few pool noodles for a Water Bin we made. I let them dry out after playtime and put them in this plastic container to store. I pulled the container out one day and added a few large ribbons to the box. Now the kids had a simple threading activity to try out.
What to do:
Tie one knot at the end of the ribbon. Then let the kids thread them one by one onto the ribbon. The kids can go over the colors of the noodles.
This is a great activity for hand eye coordination. It can also be a good way to try patterns with the colors for the kids. So many ways to play and learn with pool noodles!
We hope you can have fun with this activity too.
Thanks so much for having me over today on House of Burke!
