When we got back to the Glamparents, I had big plans to carve pumpkins with Kingston as a family.
Toddler Tip: Toddlers do what they want!
K was very interested in the "pump pumps" and wanted to hold them. We sat him with us as Todd carved out the top and he was intrigued by the insides.
Though once Todd helped him to feel inside of the pumpkin, Kingston wasn't so sure!
I sat him down on the floor to dig into the pumpkin innards further. My sensory play loving kid HATED it!!
Oh sure, he looks like he is having fun right? Nope. He hated the way the pumpkin guts felt. He was weirded out and totally just wanted to dump the bowl on the floor. I was shocked, since I thought this would be the ultimate in sensory play fun for him. But he knows what he wants and he wanted nothing to do with pumpkin carving sensory fun!
So, needless to say, family pumpkin carving will have to wait until next year. We left Dada to handle the rest while we went off and played. I must say, Dada did a mighty fine job!
